I am your Caregiver

Grandmother, Grandfather, Mother, Father,

Brother, Sister, Aunt, Uncle, Son or Daughter.

Whatever name I use to call you formally

I am here.

I have vowed to be your caregiver.

I have taken responsibilities and tasks you are no longer able to perform.

There is nothing too large or too small to deserve my attention.

When I'm with you I feel as though I can't do anything more.

When I'm away I feel I haven't done enough.

I don't take a vacation and if I do, I can't enjoy it-

Not because of anything you would ever say or do but because I want to care for you.

Most of the time I want to

provide what you need myself because no one else could give

you that personal touch.

Sure I might need a break,

but if I took a physical break I would still be thinking about you.

I am your doctor; I diagnose your medical conditions.

I am your nurse; I take care of you physically.

I am your pharmacist; I give you your medication.

I am your psychiatrist; I listen to your problems.

I am your accountant; I balance your checkbook and take care of your bills.

I am your nutritionist; I assist in making your meals.

I am your personal assistant: I help with making appointments.

I am your maid and your transportation director; I clean your home

and take you where you need to go.

I am all of these things to you because I care.

I am formally known as your caregiver.
